Hello Kevin,
I have been a loyal darkMX user for a long while. I would like to request that DarkMX support Hyphanet as an option for anonymous file sharing. Unlike I2P and Tor, which route internet packets anonymously, Hyphanet is a distributed datastore that is anonymous through plausible deniability. As a distributed datastore rather than a router, when you upload content to hyphanet it can be inside the datastore long after you log off, so long as people keep downloading your file. In addition, it is extremely resistant to Sybil and DDoS attacks because when a file explodes in popularity, each node that downloads or forwards it on behalf of or to someone else adds the specfic parts of the file to their own datastore, which means that accessing content makes it faster and more available than other content that is not as popular. In addition, Hyphanet also supports P2P web hosting via fproxy. Adding hyphanet support for long term file storage would make DarkMX much more reliable and useful.

PS. Switching the built in Tor implementation to bundling Tor proper would make the network much more stable and performant, especially with the new features and reduce the development needed on DarkMX. In this case, all DarkMX would have to do is download the official Tor expert bundle directly from the Tor project website and set it up, but keeping Tor separate would make DarkMX more modular and secure.
PS. Will there ever be DarkMX Peer Networking Protocol like WPNP for WinMX.
PS. You could make donations less expensive in terms of processing fees by switching your Patreon page to a Liberapay page.
